‘Mani and the Peloponnese through my eyes’. My Sony and I wander through our wonderful Mani and capture the moment. Photographs are powerful tools for preserving memories, capturing moments that might otherwise fade with time. They serve as tangible reminders of people, places, and experiences, enabling us to revisit important chapters in our lives. They remind us of joys, challenges, and growth, helping to build our personal and collective identities.
By preserving these visual memories, we ensure that the stories behind each image continue to live on.
The photographs you will find under each category were taken from March 2019 onwards, when we settled permanently in Mani after living for three months in Kotroni, on the other side of Messinia Bay. Many of the villages and beaches look different today, as the area is developing rapidly.
"It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head." – Henri Cartier-Bresson
